With a view to provide financial support to meritorious but financially weak students of Udupi district, Vidyaposhak wing was established in 2005. Those students belonging to poor families who have studied in Kannada medium and have secured 80% and above marks in SSLC are eligible for the support. Vidyaposhak volunteers visit the houses of the applicant students, verify the veracity of their claims, ascertain financial resources and needs of the students, assess their financial requirements of the students and recommend the names of eligible students for scholarships.
